2022 Annual Funding

We are thrilled to announce that in 2022, we have received annual funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Ontario Health that enables us to continue providing selected free training, resources, and support across the province – with many other resources and tools freely available nationally and internationally. More information about how to register for these training spots will be available in the coming weeks.

In addition, in Ontario, the new Home and Community Care Services Regulation (under the Connecting Care Act, 2019) came into effect on May 1, 2022 and for the first time, aphasia and communication disorders are explicitly mentioned in the section related to awareness, education and prevention.

"Volunteering at the Aphasia Institute gives me the privilege of seeing people with aphasia take back their lives after stroke. I know I'm making a difference by volunteering at AI every week."
- Ushi Tanna, 25-year Veteran Volunteer
