On December 7th, our members and their families enjoyed attending the Nutcracker – courtesy of our partnership with the Share the Magic program and the National Ballet.

On Saturday, November 18, Elyse Shumway, Director of Clinical Services and Education, and Aura Kagan, Executive Advisor, Strategy, Applied Research and Education, presented on “Supporting People with Aphasia in Making Their Own Critical Life Decisions: SCA™ in Action” at the 2023 ASHA Convention Changemaker session.

Our members have been engaging in monthly group volunteer opportunities at the Daily Bread Food.

On Friday, June 23rd our members attended a workshop at the Art Gallary of Ontario (AGO). They had a wonderful time sketching still life. All supplies were provided by the AGO, along with free general admission passes. We thank the AGO for providing our members with this amazing opportunity.

On Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 9:00am ET our community came together for a day filled with fun, laughter and joy! We met at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto and talked, walked and rolled together.

The Program Break will be from June 19th until July 3rd.

All our members, staff & volunteers will gather for our spring Town Hall online on Tuesday April 18th, 11:30 am -12:30 pm.

All on site programs are cancelled on Wednesday March 29, 2023.

After leading the Aphasia Institute since 1987, Dr. Aura Kagan will be stepping down as Executive Director and transitioning to a new role as Executive Advisor, Strategy, Applied Research and Education as of April 1, 2023. We are pleased to announce that the current Director, Clinical Services and National/ Provincial Education Lead, Natalie Gierman MHSc. PMP, has been appointed to the Executive Director role.
